Michael Landon Died Of Cancer from Filming Close to a Contaminated Nuclear Site
Just after months of cancer diagnosis, Michael died on July 1, 1991. It was reported that the cause for cancer might have been the shooting location of Little House on the Prairie set to Santa Susana Field Laboratory.
The shooting continued for eight long years 15 miles away from the Santa Susana Nuclear Laboratory, where there was a partial meltdown of a nuclear reactor in 1959. According to studies, the local residents of this place died mostly of cancer.
The cancer was increased to 60% in lung, bladder, kidney, liver, blood, thyroid, lymph node, upper digestive tract and almost 2000 people lost their life. But years after Landon’s demise, it was found that his cancer and the location had no connection.
In addition, the California Department of Health Services released a report that showed cancer among the LA residence from 1978 and 1988.
They did not develop cancer due to the radiation exposure. As soon as Landon was diagnosed with cancer, he went to his wife and kids in the Malibu House. He chose to consume a vegetarian diet, acupuncture, Enzymes, and vitamins. On April 18, 1991, he underwent chemotherapy.
During his last days, Michael gathered all his nine children, wife, longtime friend, and business pater Kent McCray in his ranch. According to them, this actor said,
